“Oysters”
For my thesis, I have created a formal women’s wear collection. My body of work revolves around ‘layers’ inspired by an oyster. The oyster shell slowly increases in diameter and the growth in diameter is achieved by adding new thin layers on top of the other. Thus, the outer protectant goes through a process of over-lapping layers which I have incorporated in my collection. The colour palette is derived from the mother of pearl which gives a soft, delicate and feminine feel to the overall collection.
