“BREAK THE BIAS”

SOURCE: “FEMALE OF PAKISTAN WHO HAVE BROKEN STEREOTYPES” The concept for my collection revolves around “Women Empowerment”. In Pakistan, the gender-based divide is a great hindrance to women's progress in several professions and fields of work. However, women in Pakistan have been tirelessly exhibiting, several businesses and brands have been brewing newer opportunities to help women identify, grow and sustain their inner talents without having to fear social barriers. In a society where women have to face many difficulties to carve a path for themselves, the efforts of a few courageous women give hope for a better future for the next generation of women as empowering women is empowering a nation. Which is why my source of inspiration for my design is "The Women of Pakistan" who have achieved and broken the stereotypes across different fields. The “Female” shown on my prints are: Shamim Akhter; the first female truck driver, and Bishmah Maroof; the Pakistan cricket captain. What I aimed to achieve is to highlight their presence in our lives and celebrate their achievements as women.
