A Walk by the Sea (Where waves inspire: Transforming Ocean Waste into Coastal Couture.)
As a lifelong resident of a coastal city, the sea is a part of my home. My thesis showcases the bond between the sea and coast, highlighting their material exchange. The coast receives waste from the sea, including discarded waste that contributes to ocean pollution. By elevating the value of this waste through repurposing it into fashion accessories, I aim to bridge the gap between organic and inorganic materials, convey the stories within the layers of the sea, and revolutionize the appearance and value of materials. With a focus on sustainability, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste and finding innovative ways to utilize it. The conversion of waste into fashion highlights the beauty in discarded materials and contributes to a more environmentally conscious society.
