Busy intersections in the city are public spaces, but how often do they celebrate walkability in the urban fabric and how well do they serve as assets for urban travelers, like open public spaces? This thesis aims to reimagine NIPA Chowrangi: as one of the busiest everyday intersections of the city into a site for relief. The redesign of pedestrian movement patterns to ease circulation and enhance the user experience becomes a significant part of this thesis. Improving these walkability patterns results in the activation of otherwise dead spaces amidst the hustle-bustle, which boosts the local economy and aids the urban flaneur in navigating through the city, with an increased sense of belonging.
