Beauty Standards
Initially my work rooted from my obsession with makeup and fashion and later turned towards critiquing beauty standards. My artwork creates a connection between the pressure I feel as a woman to look a certain way and my addiction to makeup. My work is a depiction of the conflict I have within myself to look a certain way as well as criticise my own habits and look at the broader effects these beauty standards have on women. I am also mocking the growing beauty trends promoted by beauty influencers that people are following blindly.
