ADIYA KHAN

Home

My research stems from a place of confusion and lost identity, and a desire to explore the city I live in, Karachi, after growing up in Hong Kong and moving to my home country during adulthood. This series of works explores the ambiguity of the concept of ‘home’, in relation to family relationships and discovering the cityscape of Karachi, its identity, and its effects on my self-identity, as well as the dichotomy between the two cities. The work addresses globalisation, diaspora, migration, and a strong expression of familial attachment and nurturing these close relationships with family and culture.
